So, I’m watching a YouTube channel of a guy with compulsive colorful metaphor insertion disorder, and who needed a steady diet of Dial applied orally by his mom when he was a kid.
I won’t be sharing his videos, because of the language, which is sad, because he does good work.
I spent several decades of my life working with foul-mouthed construction and factory guys, so maybe I have a higher tolerance for potty-mouths.
I’m a Christian, so yes, it bugs me. Am I going to have a nervous breakdown because someone cusses like a sailor-no.
On most days, I am not a cusser. Catch me on a bad day, and you might hear some slips of metaphorically-inclined language. I repent, ask the Lord and whoever’s around me for forgiveness, and move on.
I went on about that to say this:
American Christians need to be able to move, function, and enjoy their non-Christian friends and family without having a hissy fit. Pray through it, do a Scriptural mind scrub when you get home, and spend time with those who don’t live or believe like you do. It’s what we do. Get over it. Just don’t mimic it.
Actually, I understand the psychology of my YouTube videographer. He doesn’t care if he has a lot of subscribers. He purposefully attempts to be offensive to keep the non-serious from hanging around. He’s a preparedness officianado, and I like his content. It’s real, and Ill keep watching him. I may also send him a bar of Lifebuoy.
Peace out,
Enrico
